Shipping via UCSD Mail Services

You may ship your package using UCSD Mail Services if your package:

  • Weighs less than 30 pounds
  • Does not contain hazardous materials
  • Is shipped via USPS, UPS, or Federal Express
  • Consists of documents only for a foreign destination

Note: UCSD Risk Management will insure the package through its transit insurance programs if you send your package through UCSD Shipping Services.

Shipping Procedures:

  1. Place package in outgoing mail bin in SDSC Room 210 prior to 9 AM. If your package needs to be sent today and mail has already been picked up, take it to UCSD Mail Services, Campus Services Building A, prior to 2 pm.
  2. Complete an SDSC Shipping Label with the sender's name and complete ship to information, including:
    • Contact name
    • Address (full street address, no PO Boxes)
    • Phone number
  3. Write your name, email, index number and the name of the shipping service (FedEx, UPS, or USPS) in the upper right hand corner.
  4. The UCSD mail room will send you a tracking number via email. Record the tracking number for your reference.
